Our Programs
Independent Living Waterloo Region (ILWR) partners with people with disabilities to enhance their opportunities through a variety of programs while promoting accessibility and inclusion in our community.
Open to adults with disabilities, our programs include community-building events and peer support, greater access to assistive devices and specialized equipment, and self-management of your attendants.
Community Resource Program
The Community Resource Program allows people with disabilities to live independently in their community through one-on-one support and creating peer connections through social events.
Access Fund
The Access Fund provides funding to support the purchase of assistive devices and specialized equipment.
Awareness and Education
ILWR works within our community to educate businesses, schools, and organizations about the barriers that exist for people with disabilities and how we can work together to identify and remove those barriers.
Direct Funding
The Direct Funding Program offers the opportunity for people who require attendant services to manage their attendants and care.
